DITF was formed in July 2020 and includes 16 members from various disciplines and experiences, which is overseen by a six-member steering committee.

SCB Nigeria Chapter Conference
The SCB Nigeria Chapter's Seventh Conservation Conference—moved online due to the coronavirus pandemic—focused on current and emerging environmental challenges directly affecting biological diversity in Nigeria. Chapter President Dr. Fola Babalola said the conference offered solutions to challenges facing biodiversity conservation in Nigeria.
